Are you interested in taking your involvement in PRSA to the next level? PRSA Central Ohio is always looking for committee members to assist in the coordination of events and activities for the chapter. Serving the chapter is a terrific opportunity to continue your commitment to the profession and support the growth of the industry in the central Ohio area. We welcome volunteers throughout the year; there are a variety of committees to fit your interests and availability.

  • Accreditation (APR) - The Accreditation Committee sponsors the chapter’s APR preparatory course, which is offered both as a study mechanism for the APR Exam and as a valuable professional development opportunity for all members. The Accreditation Committee also publicizes new APRs through Profiles and targeted media and assists with PRSA’s Accreditation Maintenance Program.   • Communication – The Communication Committee oversees the chapter’s newsletters, social media presence and website management. If you are interested in assisting with any of these specific efforts, please reach out to committee chair Corinne Gleckler at news@prsacentralohio.org.
  • Development – The Development Committee oversees the fundraising efforts of the chapter and administers a sponsorship program that involves and recognizes the business community in its support of the organization. If you are interested in helping to secure chapter sponsors, or becoming a sponsor, please contact committee chair Luka Papalko at development@prsacentralohio.org.

  • Diversity & Inclusion - PRSA Central Ohio affirms diversity as a smart business practice. It is through awareness, education and positive recognition of the differences among people in the workforce that we can begin to recognize the uniqueness in everyone, valuing the contribution that each can make and create an inclusive work environment where awareness of, and respect for, those of diverse groups. For this reason the Board of Directors established a Diversity Committee.   • Masters - the Masters Committee works to develop events for practitioners who have held PRSA membership for 10 or more years. If you are interested in joining the Masters Committee, please contact co-chairs Denise Clark or Beth Watkins at masters@prsacentralohio.org.  Masters Committee members should have held PRSA membership for 10 or more years.

  • Podcast Subcommittee - Help us create a unique and relevant podcast, Good Morning Communicators, with discussions on current PR topics including Central Ohio public relations events, crisis communications, data analytics and future technologies. Whether you are interested in planning, conducting interviews, production, editing or co-hosting, there is a role for you with just 1-2 hours per month of commitment.   • PRism Awards - The PRism Committee promotes participation in the chapter’s annual awards program. The committee selects a theme, plans the PRism event, works with the facility, reviews PRism Award criteria, arranges entry judging, arranges entries for display and coordinates reciprocal judging of another chapter’s entries.   • Programs - The Programs Committee plans and implements PRSA programming including workshops, evening events, luncheons and an annual PRSA Central Ohio Conference. The committee secures noteworthy speakers from a variety of fields to address members on pertinent topics, coordinates all arrangements with facilities.   • PRSSA Liaison - The PRSSA Liaison Committee serves to connect the professional society with local student members of its para-professional organization, PRSSA. In its liaison role, the committee provides professional development, internship and mentoring opportunities, offers assistance with PRSA associate membership and assists in the planning and execution of an annual public relations conference.
