A Sustained Success: Integrated Marketing Program Gains Traction for Labeling Sustainability

Avery Dennison, a leader in label and packaging solutions, sought to gain recognition among its audiences for its sustainability efforts. Fahlgren Mortine developed an integrated communications campaign to raise awareness across paid, owned and earned channels. The payoff: Avery Dennison’s website saw a nearly 70% increase in traffic to sustainability pages.

The Road to Success: Travel Nevada Turns Itineraries into Tax Dollars

As the destination marketing organization (DMO) for the state of Nevada, Travel Nevada is responsible for driving visitation throughout the entire state. The Travel Nevada PR team has historically encouraged road trips to help with this, but as it entered FY19, an integrated team took that promotion to the next level, developing several new road trip routes and creatively promoting them through earned media. They generated millions of impressions, link clicks and engagements showing travel intent.

Melissa brings 15 years of experience in integrated marketing communications strategy, including social media, media relations and influencer relations. Melissa has worked with Avery Dennison for more than five years, and campaigns Melissa has led on behalf of Avery Dennison businesses have been recognized regionally and nationally, with Columbus PRism Awards, PRSA Cleveland Rocks Awards, a SABRE Award, among others. In addition to leading the Avery Dennison work, Melissa has recently led client programs for Lubrizol, Edwards Fire Safety, Dunkin’ and the City of Independence.  


Heather Sheppard

Heather has developed, managed and executed integrated marketing campaigns with PR and social media strategies for global consumer and tourism brands like Krazy Glue, Balloon Time, Experience Columbus and Travel Nevada. Her work is not only award-winning, but more importantly, it has driven conversions for her clients, helping to prove the ROI of marketing efforts. Heather is considered a leader in social marketing and influencer engagement, with expertise in social media law, brand social tone and social analytics. She also has media relationships with journalists at Forbes, Men’s Journal, USA Today and more. In 2016, Heather was named Central Ohio PRSA's Rising Star and PRWeek's Young Professional of the Year, the highest local and national honors for a young PR professional. Heather currently serves on the Central Ohio PRSA Board as the treasurer and, in 2021, will serve as president-elect.
