"Building" Up The Arnold Classic

March in Central Ohio means more than melting snow. For many it’s the greatest people-watching month of the year in Columbus! This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Arnold Sports Festival, which features 18,000 athletes from 80 nations competing in 45 sports and events.
With a festival that adds more events to its roster every year, how do you stay ahead of such a dynamic event from a communications standpoint? How do you navigate the challenges that come with having California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as the event founder?
Brent LaLonde, Director of Communications for “The Arnold,” manages the monumental task of handling the PR for this worldwide fitness festival, filled with bodybuilding men and women, cheerleaders, wrestlers, gymnasts, martial artists and more. Last year, LaLonde was instrumental in handling the PR for the unveiling of the Arnold statue in front of Vets Memorial, which was not warmly received by some veterans.
Join us on TUESDAY, March 19th for a luncheon at the Bluestone where LaLonde will share his thoughts and experiences surrounding the promotion of the Arnold Sports Festival and the communication challenges that can arise in the process.
